My Bio

Dawn Schiller (Dee) is a self-learning artist who is always experimenting. She is the author of the book, "FaeMaker — Making Character Figures with Polymer Clay" from Impact Books.

Her award-winning work is internationally collected and has appeared in shows, galleries, books, and magazines, in both the US and Europe. Dawn exhibits yearly at Comic Con International in San Diego, and at other pop culture/media related shows around the US.

A self-employed sculptor, Dawn has been teaching online and in-person for many years. She sculpts in polymer and paper clay, leather, and felt. Draws in graphite and ink, colors with colored pencil and watercolor. One medium is just not enough.

Dawn collects Halloween socks, interesting hats and loves Faerie, Halloween and geekdom. A full-time self employed fine artist/sculptor, she lives in Southern California in a cluttered condo with husband/science teacher/fencer/coach Greg, eight kittykids, a gecko, a turtle and any other critters Greg’s students bring for him to adopt.

Dee has sculpted, made dolls or drawn since she was a little kid in the rural Midwest...she’s an artist because she can’t imagine being or doing anything else — it’s BIG FUN!!! A loft studio, affectionately referred to as “The Lair”, is where the oddfae come to life. Greg doesn’t like to go up there because there’s always someone (or something) staring at him.

Thank you for faving my Minature Buildings! I'm building an Addams Family house model, watch for it in the future! :D
I've had your book for a good while now, but I never tried to do sculptures until last year. :)
Since I'm still new to all this, I haven't yet attempted to make an artdoll, but I want to try one soon. :D Thank you for the book! It's very easy to understand and has fabulous pictures!
I love the names you come up with, your book is awesome! It inspired me to make polymer clay characters, too!
Thanx so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the book...
I really like your characters, especially for their realistic and lovely expressions! I can also see that you put passion at your work.
I just want to encourage you to keep on creating!
Cheers Dee! I am a dummy!
Thanx very much!
